The Epona Foundation continues to make a difference in the lives of the youth in the community. Here are a few of our success stories.
The Epona Foundation made it easy for me to succeed academically. Epona's dedicated volunteers and excellent programs made no challenge in school difficult. Although I was not active in the ranch, Epona helped me exponentially with regards to my education. Thanks to Epona, I was able to be in the honor roll in high school and be accepted into university with scholarships.
Not only was Epona adamant and encouraging in having strong academic records, they also advocated contributing positively in the community. I was able, through Epona, to help out my community by volunteering as a tutor in the Stay in School program.
Thanks to Epona, I was not only able to hold strong academic standings but also be a positive contributor in the community as well. The Epona Foundation is truly an excellent establishment which has truly made a difference in my life and in the lives of many others.
My Name is Atiba Howell; I have been with the Epona Foundation Equestrian Program for over 6 years now and must admit that it has done many things for me both academically and socially. With the help of Epona I have graduated through High School with Excellent marks; made better ties with teachers and students something that I had not completely achieved due to many other factors.
The foundation's tutoring program also helped me to perfect my skills and knowledge in many of the subjects I was having problems with.
Socially it helped me open up a new social communicational door that helped me to meet new people and actually get into a conversational pattern that I was willing to actually return to the following day.
The horseback riding helps you to develop an amazing social skill so that you can communicate with an animal that possibly weighs 80 times your size is mandatory.
To get the information to the Horse so that you don't get hurt and neither does the Horse; I believe if anyone can possibly make communication between themselves and a Horse; then they can do anything when it comes to opening up to a human.
Epona is a program I'd advise to anyone who is seeking help may it be academically or socially. It's a program that works and has proven its self many times in the past and sure it will continue to do so. It has for me and now I'm giving back as a volunteer in many of the programs offered by the foundation.
